Week 2 run 2

Ached all over today, not an enjoyable run at all! First it was my knees, then my calf muscles, and my legs felt so heavy. Despite hating nearly every minute of it I did get it done, so all I can say is onwards and upwards.

Well done.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

Heavy legs can be symptomatic of poor hydration. As a runner you need to drink 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

It's warmer now, so take extra care with your hydration- all the time; not just before you run. Good luck with the next one :)

Do you drink plenty of water before running. Not just before but a couple of hours. Makes a difference!
