I did my run 2 this morning and nearly gave myself a couple of black eyes due to the lack of proper support in that area! So also looking forward to recommendations in that department!

I have been doing a bit of research seems shockabsorbers are good but pretty expensive!! x

Sorry but that just made me burst out laughing, bless you! I have some bras from Decathlon which I really like but I'm a C cup so it's not a big problem for me as such.

I got the shock absorber in the end, they’re as flat as pancakes now, no chance of any movement there!!!😂😂

I swear by my Sainsburys one as it's more comfortable than the more expensive brand one.it is so reasonable and is black with an orange /red piping on top.I am big btw so on days I have forgotten said crucial piece of sports underwear I have had to run with my fists under for support. Sheeesh. Looks a bit nuts.

My tip is to avoid the zip up the front varieties - twice now the zip has come down while running - I know its my own fault not paying attention to clipping it down properly but its a nightmare. Clicked onto your question as I'll have to buy a new one

I tried on a couple a few months back, although they say they are large or extra large they defo are not. I would also like to know where u get sports bra, oh and ones that don’t cost twice as much as ones for smaller sizes. Xx

This is a hardy perennial question here GreenBear! Loads of options, some more expensive than others. I use an M&S one, front loading but I’ve not had a problem with it. Shock Absorber and Bravissimo are also popular and I think Decathlon also do them although I don’t know what they’re like. Hope you find one that suits you - they’re an essential part of our running gear!

Thanks....I had the same problem with trainers.!! In lockdown your restricted on options, to try on etc...so heavily relying on recommendations. some are more expensive than trainers!! but essential. Its so hard finding bras for larger sizes I'm struggling to find economical F cups. Think I might have to bite the bullet and pay over the odds!!

I bought mine from m&s fits really well and they do fitting as well very comfy and very supportive 😊

I wear a shock absorber. I bought one from Amazon. If you buy one that is not the latest design you can get them cheaper. I find the zip fronted one easier to get on and with the shock absorber the zip has never come down.

Thank you. I will keep my eyes open for discounts on Amazon because full price in my size carrys a hefty price tag. x

Yes, the bigger cups are always more expensive! Just be aware that like bras generally, the sizes are all different and what you wear normally may not be what you need in a sports bra. There may be an element of trial and error! Good luck with the search!

Thanks. took my measurements and I have had a look at M&S and they do my size. I think I will try it out. ,@ £20 not as expensive as some of the others I have seen x Thanks for advice and time x

I use a Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Sports Bra...keeps the D cup jallabers well under control. ;-)

I use UnderArmour, the one that crosses in the back, it's quite good and comfortable, though I don't need much support :) I bought it from amazon, used to be £10-15, I see with the lockdown they are more like £30-40 now, depending on the size...

It’s the shock absorber classic and on special offer on amazon at the moment for £25 for my size. Defo worth the money!

Shocker absorber Run ultimate in the DD+ Pricey but it’s really good, no problems and keep the G cups secure and in place!! Or I use my trusted Gorgeous DD+ sorts bra which I love!!! At the moment it’s £21 as I have just ordered another one (I always wait for the blue cross sale at Debenhams) I hope this helps and you find what your looking for.

Oh I will try that DD+ sports bra because its trued and tested and you are a similar size to me. where did you order it from ? Debenhams? Thank you x

MuddySluggerRuns profile image
MuddySluggerRuns in reply toGreenBearxxx

Yes from Debenhams, I literally ordered another one this morning! This may sound strange but I tend to put a sports bra on and have a Run on the spot or a bounce just to see if it works or not lol 😂 The OH thinks I’m mad but I’d rather do a rest before I actually go out in it lol 😆

Hi there. I ordered a Freya one online a couple of weeks ago when I started C25K and it’s been great 👍

I like the Kalenji Running Bra from decathlon, black, with the coloured beading and straps that you can link together at the back. Stops all that annoying shoulder slippage. Excellent support. Not bad price either £19.99

Definitely shock absorber, the one with the back fastener. Devil of a job to do up, but once it's on it does the job really well. Buy your normal size and it woll be fine. You'll think you won't be able to do it up, but you will!

Lots of ladies love shock absorber. I'm sure they're great but I found I couldn't get one done up without a full formula one pit stop team.

I have two Freya sports bras, love them. As essential as my shoes. 😉

I nearly had to press the help bell to get one off in Debenhams. 🥵😳Then the sales assistant said "they do run small "

I don't get why the sizes don't match up to regular bra sizes, is this such a difficult concept?

GreenBearxxx profile image
GreenBearxxxGraduate in reply toJell6

Lol!!

in reply toSpeedy60

My best mate told me how to put on the Shock Absorber without dislocating anything(!) and it works. The trick is not to undo the top clip, and put the bra on over your head like a jumper. Then you can just pull it down over your jallabers and do up the lower catch as you would on an ordinary bra. :-)
