So social distancing and lockdown looks like will be here for another 3 weeks😭,. Don't let that stop you.😁 We can run/walk anywhere😊,. Even around the street or in our own gardens. So let's have a bit of fun with this. If you can't get out on the roads then try this around your house or garden, up and down your street. We can still stay active and get that fresh air around us. Get creative and let's post how we get on with it all in here. We will support each other as we always do. Doesn't matter what stage of your fitness your at, this is for everyone, somthing is better than nothing. Hopefully a few guys who have been doing this will post up their experience of it and feedback. Come on guys we can do this.

Fortunate to have quite a large(ish) garden, one lap is about the 90 sec run of week 2 that me and 'Oh great one that haunts the kitchen' did our first run of today ... not as bad as we had imagined.
We had a bit of a giggle yesterday, marked out our garden with our grandaughters name then (walked) round it! looked pretty good on mapmyrun and her typical teenage comment on Whatsap .... "cool"
We’re lucky that we have a garden. It’s not large, but it’s big enough to run around. I’m used to running on far more interesting routes though, so I’ve started using the Nike Run Club app for something to motivate me (or the Archers omnibus on a Sunday 😂 ). Went out on nothing but a banana for breakfast on Easter Sunday and got into an unexpected rhythm, did my longest run yet - round and round and round and.....
I hope he pond is deep enough for a swim! A couple of members of our tri club have the big family sized paddling pools, they've posted videos of themselves with a bungee attached to a handy wall or post and tied round their waists, they're getting nice swimming sessions.
I'm running up and down the garden path with a loop around the shed at the bottom, garmin says it's just under 100m if I'm running, just over 100m if I'm walking. I need a long tape to measure it properly. I'm using clothes pegs to count the laps as they live on the table I run round at the top of my 'route'. I've run out of pegs once, it's very much a test of mental stamina rather than physical.
Hmmmm, great idea, but my hubby has been gardening a lot lately...looks lovely but would definitely present as more of an obstacle course, than a run🤔 and it's not that long.....so a lot of turning would be needed......think I'll stick with the old, 'I'm just off around the block' thing for now........
I'm liking the idea of the ' bungee swim' though......how deep would a pool have to be for that to work do you suppose?....
It was fine! I only did 3 sets (1 set = 7 stories up and down) because I was testing it out, and I'm going to try and tippy-toe as much as I can so as not to annoy the neighbours. But even jogging quite slowly up stairs is still a great workout 😁
I missed this Johnny.. sorry... I have been garden running for a while and discovered I can get 1.5K out of the whole area without doubling back..
I open the two locked side and back gates and run on the meadow area.. ( small but wild) and over a half finished rockery onto the front lawns... diagonal variations take me over tree roots and I have to avoid overhanging branches on the cherry trees! It is a bit of a trail run really...and I have enjoyed it.. because I cannot run at any speed, I see and notice even more than I do normally... and that has been a bonus.
Because some folk near me, who should know better, have no idea of social distancing I did get a bit phobic about being out of the gardens. But..I did venture out around my Close on a Sunday morning.. ( all in bed then).. found quite times to do a couple more and today.. It rained ...Yeayayayay! They all hate rain so I got out even further...
I have mixed this with my normal strength and stamina work and some indoor walking too. ( Holly Dolke) as recommended by roseabi ...
So much to learn about ourselves with all this and so many ideas to keep us moving Great to read what other folk are dong... so innovative !
