Hi well iv started this evening the Couch to 5k. Completed first day of week 1. I was blowing out my ears but wow I did it. Roll on Thursday. Think my dog enjoyed it too. Onwards upwards away we go.

Congratulations on starting C25K with run 1 of week 1, glad you enjoyed your first run, for many that is the hardest run of the whole program.

Fantastic! It may be hard but it gives you such a buzz. Enjoy and just take it at your own pace. Good luck!👍

That’s a good start

I started with my dog but found it distracting and also not sure why I did it as I don’t like seeing dogs running all the time there out or worse still beside a cyclist so she now goes for proper walks only now

Good luck with week 2 , you’ll be fine as long as you pace yourself

Brilliant- the most difficult step really is that first run. Don’t be afraid to go really really slowly if you want. It all counts as running and it isn’t a race. Have a look at Japanese slow running on YouTube. Looking forward to your updates.

I agree, it doesn’t matter how slow you run. You aren’t competing against anyone. I’ve just completed W2R2, and for some reason my mindset wasn’t there so was really pleased to finish BUT I did it. Any activity is better than none 😃 I run Mon, Wed and Fri around 6.30am so there isn’t anyone about, so I look forward to the Friday run as I have a lie in Sat and Sun 😃 Keep going!

Well done 👍🏼 and welcome to Couch25K. Just enjoy your runs go at your own pace and make sure you take your rest days. My dogs loved it too although I think they thought I was mad at first when I was running. 🤣

There is no stopping you now..

Well done 👍 😊

It’s great isn’t it. Well done on getting started. I’m on W5 and have just completed R2 to my utter disbelief. And believe it or not five weeks ago I could hardly get to the top of my stairs without being out of puff! I actually found W5R2 quite easy so it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come in 5 weeks and you have all of that to look forward to. Give yourself a big pat on the back and enjoy your rest day.

I have seen on your profile you are aiming for some weight loss. I am 5' 4" and only just under 11 stone. What I wish I had done at the start was measure myself. Forget the scales your body shape will alter but weight is unlikely to as you build muscle.

Very good luck, it does get easier and you done the hard bit, got off the couch.
