Hi! So I have run 5 times. After run 4 something deep in my left hip is sore and pulling my from thigh and my lower back? Any ideas how to stop this? I went for a run today and have done three long walks over the weekend with my husband it is just uncomfortable and I already have a dodgy left shoulder. It is like my right side of the body is fine and the left isn't ๐Ÿ˜‚ I have been doing yoga and stretching well before and after. Any thoughts would be very helpful x

Are you doing dynamic stretching prior to running and static stretching after, as suggested in the guide to the plan? healthunlocked.com/couchto5... They are not the same thing.

Stretching immediately after every run, while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow.

If it persists then I would suggest trying to get assessed online by a physio as you may have underlying asymmetries, which is very common and only comes to light when you stretch your physical demands on your body.

Hi. I haven't been doing these. Today was the first time I did a pre-run yoga warm up on YouTube. Should I be doing these as part of the 5 minute walk or prior to the 5 minute walk? I have been doing a lot of yoga as I am trying to do it everday.

I don't normally do anything other than a five minute warm up walk, unless it is very cold, but I always stretch after every single run, holding them for 30 seconds.
