I'm struggling, slower today, legs aching, not finding this running in warm weather easy. Slowest run of the three this week. Being overweight doesn't help, I know, but I'm working on it, nearly a stone down from when I started running. . My breathing is fine, but the leg muscles still complain. I do a 15 min walk after to ease things off, while my running pal, my dog , has his sniffs, but still stiff when I get in... suggestions please...W9 next run....

Hi Rigsy, I was given the reminder about hydration which really helped me with the aching legs. In addition I always stretch afterwards and put real focus into the different stretches, I am aware as an older runner I really need to ( sorry I don't know your age) but it's equally important for everyone. Good luck.
Thanks for the tip, I am hydrated, but didn't occur to me to do stretches after a run. Will do that from now on, do you do them before too? At 61 I know I'm an old beginner, but already feeling the benifits, even my walking has speeded up
It’s cooling down for next week so that will be better for all of us .dont beat yourself up over it .youll smash week 9 this time next week you’ll have a shiny graduate badge next to you’re name
My constant pick me up, thank you Dogface...
You're nearly there now! Early morning run is cooler. Doesn't matter about being slower on the 3rd run of the week as long as you complete it it counts. Good luck on week 9 😁
I certainly won't be doing the 5k in the 30 mins, I know I'm slow anyway, guess it will pick up as time goes on
Hi Rigsy, ....nearly there to that finish line...well done, ....what I found towards the end of week 8 and through week 9 was that my legs were really tired and I took an extra rest day between most runs, so just take your time if you need to. 🤗
