Week 1 Run 3, Done!

Hi, guys! Week 1 completed! 💪 What’s the norm on moving on to Week 2? I started my week on Tuesday, would that be best to have 2 days rest before starting or Just the one? I had a bit of pain today, just in the walking sections, in the top of both shins! Thanks in advance!

Well done.

As explained in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... your C25k weeks don't have to coincide with calendar weeks and as long as you have at least one rest day between runs then that is fine.

The guide also has advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Well done on completing week 1. It is up to you are 😁 as long as you have 1 rest days between runs. As you have some pain it might be best to have an extra rest day and do the suggested stretches. Maybe you could also slow down your run or the walking section. Good luck with week 2!

Thank you! No pain at all, now! Maybe not hydrated enough? Enjoy your weekend & stay safe!

Some aches and pains at the start are to be expected but take any sharp, localised or persistent pain super-seriously. I had a knee injury and had to retrench for a couple of weeks ... you don't want any part of that!

Personally I think that more rest days than the plan recommends are a good thing if you, like me, are starting from a low fitness level. But that's more a “do as I say, not as I do” sort of comment because I find it very difficult to rest on a rest day as it is.

I also did week 1 run 3 this morning. I am going for every other day, rather than week numbers. So next one is Monday!! Would like to do it tomorrow but I know the rest day is important so will stick to a dog walk😀 good luck in the programme!
