This is a great time to start C25K!

Just wanted to say that this is a great time for anyone embarking on the C25K journey.

With the COVID-19 lockdown and social distancing policy in place... the C25K programme will provide much needed respite from the challenges of our new crazy normal and also time will literally fly when you start counting down the runs over 9 weeks.

Hopefully the social lockdown does not go on for 9 weeks but for the duration you are engaged with C25K it will be a good distraction. I wish I was doing it all over again!

Wishing you all the best of luck on your journey!

Good point about people starting C25K JaoJao, in a few weeks time I will be celebrating, if that's the word, my first week of C25K, run 1 was on the 18th April 2018, I graduated on 18th June 2018 exactly two months later.

I am at the moment running two 5Ks a week, have now run 17 parkruns, goodness knows when No. 18 will be, anyway I hope you are enjoying your running as well. 😊 🏃🏾.

Hey AlMorr, I had my one year anniversary last week, my first C25K run was on 25th March 2019. It’s been a fabulous year, no regrets.

I’ve tried to maintain 2-3 runs a week, parkrun 37 times, goodness knows when No. 38 will be... I love running life, nothing else really matters ❤️

Very true JaoJao, and as an added bonus the streets and roads are pretty clear too so if you choose your time wisely you should be able to safely run off from home in whichever direction takes your fancy 👍😊

That’s a great bonus as I remember many people on the boards were conscious of going out for a run in case the neighbours saw them or what people will think about them... basically... there are less people to spot you now and actually you’ll soon realise that no one is really watching! Everyone is too absorbed in their own little world x

Get out there and be amazing!

I expect lockdown to extend through June so at least 9 weeks of emptyish streets!

Well in that case these C25Kers are in for a treat! Although I hope it’s not as long as June 🥺

Nobody really knows how long before everything will be back to normal, some of the sporting events as late as July have now been cancelled, the Edinburgh Festival which takes place in August has also been cancelled for the first time ever,

Even if restrictions are lifted sooner there will be some danger of major outbreaks at mass gatherings so it’ll be some while before all this blows over

As you say no one knows when the restrictions will end, at a guess the government will lift the restrictions gradually, perhaps the first phase could be they allow you to visit relatives or friends and open some non-food shops like hairdressers and for us runners specialist sports shops, the second phase could be opening pubs and restaurants, then the third phase could be all sports gatherings, that would include park runs, we will just have to be patient and see how the situation resolves.
