Any tips on deep breathing? I find it super hard to get my breath to hit the bottom of my lungs. Trying to time my rhythm with my breath feels uncontrollable even tho I’m on week 8 run 2

In the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... there is advice on breathing.

The important thing is to slow down to a pace at which you can speak clear, ungasping sentences as you run.....if you cannot, you are going too fast.

It is not necessary to match breathing with footfall........it cause many people difficulty which leads to tensions. Do not overthink it, just breathe as you are now, as you read this.......without thinking.

The important thing is your pace......slow down.

"Correct" breathing can come later if it doesn't come naturally.

When you were a child you ran, you didn't practice breathing. Just run, your body will do the rest. If you find breathing hard then slow right down to the point of near walking. Do you practice breathing when walking? Exactly. Just relax and go. If you over complicate this thing you'll end up watching the position of your elbows in relation to your knees and the angle of your torso. If you become a pro let your team of trainers work it out, on our level it's all about fun and relaxation.

Hi Cutejog!

Run / jog slowly. If you can, try nose breathing when running. If you have to gulp air through your mouth then you're going a bit too quick. You should find this will naturally slow you to just faster than walking pace.

Maybe try Japanese jogging?
