First run... ish

Elated but gutted at the same time, I put on my stuff, mustered the courage to go out at this time and I pressed start! I managed 5 of the 8 minute slots and I’ve come home with a twinge in my right knee... thrilled I got out the door, gutted I didn’t manage the 8! Must try harder next time :)

Welcome and very well done getting started. I really struggled with run one... then I came here and listened to the advice to slow down... so maybe you don’t need to try harder next time, maybe you need to put less effort in instead?! Don’t be hard on yourself... I’ve been running two years nearly and that run remains the hardest one I’ve ever done.

Please take some time to read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which has lots of tips to help you with pacing, knees, and lots more.

You can do this... enjoy your journey.

Come talk to us lots... we can make you cry often 🤣, and also laugh and smile... keep crossing the start lines and being proud of yourself for doing so... that’s all this takes.

Hello and well done..

Just keep going 😊

Hi LottieA . Well done for starting . That is often the hardest part . I think 5 out of 8 is a good start . It’s over half 👍. And it’s 5/8 times better than sitting on your 🍑 doing nothing 😇. Make sure you have a rest day before going out again . And if you have to repeat week 1 for 2 weeks , it doesn’t matter at all . It’s called c25k ..... there is no “time “ attached to that “Heading” is there 😊. ( The 9 week thing is just a starting point - not written in stone - if you do it in 18 weeks you won’t be any less a graduate than someone who did it in 9 weeks ) . Chin up - you can do this 😉

Welcome Lottie and well done, I’m only week 2 but by far the hardest thing so far was getting off the couch. Everything after that has been a mixture of minor pain and immense pleasure. Keep at it and hopefully the pleasure will overtake the pain soon👍

#embrace the 🐌 running club. Over 70% of us don’t finish the program running an actual 5k in 30mins, but 100% of us finish running 30mins at the slowest pace possible. Dog walkers walk faster than my running pace. No worries and congrats for getting up every couple days to run ☀️.
