Been running for a year now

I need the routine of running 3 times a week more than ever now - in Lockdown with permitted exercise. I am so grateful I started the C25K programme in March 19. I was so proud of myself after week 1 and now I'm so proud of myself after week 52. I plateaued at 3.5-4 Km in 25 minutes early on and have only incrementally improved on this in terms of pace. It suits me perfectly. I see flora and fauna I wouldn't normally notice, I have my big ideas out running and get life into perspective. I haven't even thought of returning to my antidepressants - no need for them now. I really, really love the feeling of achievement when I get home again. I like Strava to track pace and distance. Kate, 60.

Happy Runniversary!

So good to read about the difference running has made to you. Can’t beat that headspace in the great outdoors, especially right now!

Here’s to many more happy running years!

Happy 1 year runniversary, Kate! Glad you are still running and reaping the many benefits. It is a great “medicine” for anxiety and depression, isn’t it? I have a newfound love and appreciation of nature since I started running; it is amazing. Keep on running and stay safe. x
