Day 1 annual leave

Willow has been reluctant to go out for a run and today i found out why...he really only likes running on the track or beach or downs, he doesn’t want to run along the road

This morning we agreed to walk to our park run a couple times or so round our track and walk home We enjoyed it, the road seemed very busy but i guess the times i’ve been walking to work and back are quieter times and late morning seems to be the time people go out

Took a few pictures on the way so thought i’d share

Stay safe and happy running all

Why would you want to run on the road when you have such other lovely tracks to take? I'm with Willow!

But now we can’t drive to them so i had to show him that we can walk to them 😀 after walking to work being busy all day walking home i need him to be enthusiastic if we are going to go for a run and he hasn’t been so i’ve put my feet up in the evenings, this week is all about getting him enthusiastic again and we both loved it today

It's hard to be enthusiastic when all around is changing. I usually drive to my runs but had to walk across a field for my warm up walk and then run along the river a bit - all lovely but I wanted to run on even terrain today because of my ankle. I feel guilty driving two minutes down the road so I guess this is how it'll be for a while 🤷‍♀️ Once you've done it though the 'feel good' factor carries you through. At least we're able to get out there 👍

Yes it certainly does, i walk home from work after near 10 hours trying to keep up with the world and being supportive to others, bound in the door call hi are we going for a run? and he says i’ve made a cup of tea i don’t feel like it really so i sit drink tea and the urge wears off lol

Everything is strange and scary but running helps our mental health and even walking home from work let’s me put it all away and relax

You're right about the mental health thing! The main reason I keep running. It's not easy to keep bright and breezy at the moment. Sounds like you have a challenging job and the running/walking will be your go to at the moment. I see you're going for a walk by the sea tomorrow - oh the joys!

We are lucky the sea is about a mile away but we usually drive as it’s busy, less so now, so walking is nicer, i have a check in with my grands and each day we take photos of where we have been and share them

Glad you’ve figured it out. (I sometimes wonder if I accidentally signed on as a mind reader, so I empathise. ) Good you’ve got a week off now to implement your Running Habit campaign. All the best. And I love the flower pictures. 😊👍

Lovely pictures. It is well and truly spring! We're all having to vary our routes and routines at the moment!

SueAppleRun profile image

yes and it’s nice to do things a bit differently instead of relying on the car, it only took us ten minutes to get to the park, another five and we will be on the beach so tomorrow’s rest day walk will be on the beach

Thank you it’s great to be able to take some time away from work, it’s ever changing so as soon as we put something in place another email comes along, we have been issued with face masks though now

Difficult to work in that environment. But know you are appreciated. 👍

Thank you

Lovely pictures heralding spring! Thank you for posting them; they've really cheered me up whilst I've been working this afternoon. I know what Willow means about running on tracks and paths, rather than on the roads or pavements. I loved running on tracks and trails again once the mud and sludge had dried up after the bad weather. Keep the photos coming - it's beautiful out there 😊🌸🌳

As we are walking some of it I’ve started taking my phone with me again so pictures will get taken

Lovely pics, and it looks pretty quiet in the park for your run. Spring is definitely springing.
