Kick up the ass - back out again last night

I had only done one run after graduating the other week. With life changing every day and my sister and family struck down with the virus (at home so all ok), I havent felt like running. I tried one run after graduating but found it hard without Laura egging me on in my ear and only managed 15 mins without stopping. Did 20 mins in total but was disappointed in myself for not pushing through. Fast forward to last night. My daughter phoned very upset - her best friend's Dad had succumbed to Covid-19 in hospital😔 he wasnt that old but caught it in his care home (early dementia). His wife is Ill with CV19 at home. I couldnt settle, I was upset for my daughter and her friend, who I have known since she was 11. I gave grabbed my running shoes. I was angry at life and I needed to get out. I ran for 30 minutes, driven by my thoughts of that poor man, all alone and dying in hospital without his family beside him. I didnt need Laura last night. It was eery. When I was doing C25K, I was running past a constant stream of cars the restaurants were busy, there were loads of runners out on the streets, people walking dogs and just people generally. I was so thankful that I had learned to run. Thank you C25K. You will be a mental prop for a lot of us in these coming weeks. This morning a distant relative in America told me her 65 year old Mum died yesterday, almost definitely from the virus. Stay safe everyone xxxx

Your post is very moving indeed. Where I live (north of Italy) we are facing this big issue from three weeks now and last weeks I was surprised reading this lovely forum because the situation was so different at that time.

Now we are unfortunately in the same boat and we have the same sea to navigate...my best wishes for you and your family😘
