Hello all, yesterday I did week 8 run 1 - completed it and felt great, after good advice in week 5 I changed my way of thinking about the runs and it has really helped. I can't quite believe I'm at this point - testament to the effectiveness of the programme! I do all my runs on a treadmill for various reasons and I'm happy with that, and especially happy to have it as I'm in Italy and we have been on lockdown for a while now. The issue I have is that when I run I have no pain at all - I mean I feel my muscles but no joint pain, but the day after I feel my knee is sore - not continuously but going up and down the stairs, almost as if I can barely move it. Any advice? I've mostly just done two rest days if I thought it was necessary - the odd thing is sometimes I've felt twinges in my knee or ankle on the warm up walk (5.5km/h) but when I run at 7.5 - with the odd burst at 8! I feel no pain at all - what is the explanation for that? Should I put ice on my knee? Any exercises to strengthen it or will the running take care of that in the end? Thanks in advance! Please take care in the UK - the situation here is so sad.

Yes, I went back to it after I'd written and saw that the advice was there ....thank you again will get to those exercises!
