Yesterday I braved the supermarket (mercifully calm and quiet thank goodness) and spent the afternoon working in the garden. I was ready just to curl up on the sofa to be honest, but I was due a run and although the sun had set it was still light outside. Maybe just a walk, I thought. But then, I might as well get my running kit on in case, said a little voice in my head. So I did. And my Garmin, set up for a week 2 run, slapped onto my wrist. And hey presto, there I was, jogging and walking along a very quiet street. The first run was a struggle I admit, and so was the second, but after that it got easier, I started to enjoy it. Only passed three people the whole way, everyone keeping their distance, but saying hi ๐. When my watch buzzed for the end, I felt really great, so week 3 here I come! It's so good to get that feeling again, and to anyone just starting c25k, please keep going especially now, it will help you through this awful time. Please people, follow the lockdown rules, we don't want to lose our opportunity to get out for a run. ๐

Well done! ๐๐๐ Sometimes we struggle to get up and go - but once we do we rarely regret it, right? I had a run this morning at 7am and there were a few other runners and dog walkers about in my local (very large!) park, but everyone was so mindful of giving each other space. Lots of cheery hellos as we passed each other by. Popped to my local supermarket this morning - and the same. People being mindful of the 2m distancing and it all felt very calm. Itโs important to highlight good behaviour - not everyone is daft!
Hope you continue to enjoy your lovely runs safely. Especially in this beautiful spring weather. All the best to you!
