After a couple of disappointing consolidation runs, I managed 30 minutes today and I enjoyed the run!
I slowed down my pace and I made sure I was drinking plenty of water all day beforehand. Those two things made a difference.
I’m getting worried that we’ll be locked down because all of the stupid people who aren’t social distancing - where I live, there were crowds on the seafront today. I wasn’t there btw, I saw it on the news.
I really, really want to keep running. It’s keeping me sane. I hope I don’t have to stop ☹️

I too hope these errrrr let's just call them less intelligent people wakeup to the reality of the situation and start to listen 👍
So pleased you enjoyed your run today that's great news. We all knew things would pick up for you!
The rest of today's news isn't so great, so maybe plan some routes which are really off the beaten track and hopefully we'll be able to continue our running if we are all responsible! 🙏
Thanks Roxdog. I hope so. I went out about 5pm and I saw hardly anyone. I was running on the streets near my home. When I did pass people, we both moved further away from each other.
You can keep going! You're doing so well! Really lovely to hear you enjoyed this run. Slowing down is the future!
We shall run until they stop us... then we’ll hit up some indoor workouts and be ready to run again when this is all over. If we do get a full lockdown then we will all be in the same boat as we work to get back to where we are now... and I have to say it’ll be a pleasure to do that in such great company.
You won’t ever have to stop... it’ll only be a pause at worst. Look back at what you’ve done, it doesn’t get tougher than that... if we do lose a couple of months, when we start back it will be from a better position than first time around.
Stay safe, keep that lovely happy pace from today in mind... we will come out of this and have many happy running years.
Yes indeed. I know not being to run is a small sacrifice in the greater scheme of thing. However, it’s keeping me sane and running has come to mean a huge amount to me. As you said, we’ll all be in the same boat.
I live in Devon and we have silly people arriving in caravans, ( mostly second homers) presumably assuming they will be less likely to be ill in more remote areas. How selfish and inconsiderate!!! Keep safe and run outside while you can
I laughed this morning at the news when they had a picture at bala in north wales saying go home idiots!
Just selfishness at the end of it all! I have been thanked by a few people when things have been cancelled for having been so gracious and understanding as its no ones fault.
I'm just starting week 7 with my friend and dreading getting locked down so close to finishing. Work for the NHS and need to be able to get out and clear three old noggin!
