i'm still in the first week - after two workouts the app i was using got stuck and i decided to pay for another one and start the process over again.
My therapist gave me the idea to mix physical activity (which I don't like) with something that gives me pleasure. The insight came when I found out that my kindle fit inside my fanny pack: I could read in the park while I rest.
One thing led to another and, well, why not read about running?
I just finished "What i talk about when i talk about running", by the novelist Haruki Murakami and now I am going to start a book written by a very popular doctor here in Brazil, who is also a marathon runner (without English translation, I'm afraid).
So I came here to ask: do you have tips from books on running? I'm not exactly looking for manuals, but experiences, memories, essays. For example, the next on my list is going to be Wonderlust: a history of walking, by Rebecca Solnit.

Murakami's book is cool, right? I really liked it.
The doctor is called Drauzio Varela and the book is called "Correr: o exercício, a cidade e o desafio da maratona", which can be translated as "Running: the exercise, the city and the challenge of the marathon.
It is a very nice book, because he says he started running at the age of 49, after meeting an old schoolmate who said that "fifty years is the beginning of man's decline". To contradict him, he challenged himself to run a marathon at fifty ... and has been running marathons ever since (he is almost 80 now).
