Hi all!
I’ve just downloaded the C25K app and am really up for doing it but when it comes around I lack motivation and find it hard to push myself to go for it! Any tips?
Hi all!

It was the same for me. I then spotted a local group doing the c25k programme. They were on week 3 when I joined them. Knowing there is a group run once a week spurred me on to complete the two intermediary runs as well. Do a bit of googling and see if there is anyone near you partaking in the programme. It made the difference for me. I have just got indoors having logged my final c25k run.
For me it was making an appointment with myself to get off my bum and do my first run on a certain day. I felt very self conscious and nervous about that first run. But it was over very quickly and the next two were easier. Huge sense of achievement and this forum is FULL of lovely people who spur you on. Now on week 5 and can’t believe it!
Posting your runs on the forum and sharing your progress with others is a great way to keep your motivation going. There are so many people here to offer good advice and encouragement through all stages of C25k. The banter is great fun and really keeps you keen to keep going. I also promised myself a reward when I got to the end of week 4. I went for gait analysis and invested in new trainers before the longer runs kicked in and it was great to have a goal to work for. Good luck 😊
I think Hidden has said it all. 👍Hopefully finding this forum will help - do click on the homepage link to read 'How to Run Couch to 5k'.
Those first couple of runs can feel a bit scary and yes, of course there needs to be a bit of discipline. But hopefully you will soon discover how satisfying it can be to feel your fitness changing 💪 and start ticking off those runs! 😀Taking a few minutes to read some of the posts on this forum will also inspire you. Remember also, slow and steady is the way to go at this stage. You absolutely can do it - good luck!🙂
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Keep posting here and we will keep you running.............but only if you can be bothered to get up and out of the door.
Write down all of the reasons why you want to do this and we will allow you to retire to the couch when you can tick them all off as being achieved.
Enjoy your journey.
