Lost my mojo

So I haven’t ran for 4 weeks. I have been feeling really low and even after running my mood wasn’t lifting so I took a break. Before my 4 week break I had just completed week 4. I decided this morning to get off the couch and try a run. I thought it best to go back a week so I set out to run week 3 run 1. Off I went. It felt great to be out in the first air. Don’t get me wrong my ankles and lower legs started to hurt. My nose started to run and I began to cough but I felt happy and kept on going. As I got to my last 3 min run I felt good so decided to try and run an extra minute. As it happens I ran the 3 minutes plus the 5 min cool down walk!!!!!!! This is the longest I’ve ever ran without stopping. I actually think I could have gone on a bit longer too but thought it best to stop and walk home. I am so proud of myself for getting out there this morning. I was beginning to think maybe I wouldnt go again. I must admit I can feel it this afternoon. Hot bath with Epsom salt later I think. I really don’t care about the aching at the moment. I got out and I did it! I’m glad I took the break. I needed it. I’ve got Tuesday down as my next run and I’m looking forward to it.

Well done SamNotSammy.

I really admire you for getting going again after a break, when you really didn’t feel like it.

That determination is great to see, and will stand you in good stead for the remainder of the programme.

Amazing and well done too for running above and beyond at the end 👍💪

Keep up the great work, and keep us all posted on your progress.

Happy running for Tuesday 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Congratulations for taking the bull by horns and getting back out . The weather in February was horrendous and not very encouraging to any of us new runners 😳🙄🙈. We are now in March , nights are going to be longer and hopefully weather will give us all a bit of “ get up and go “ !! 🤣. You ve done the hardest bit by getting back out there . 😇 Everyone s cheering you on . 👏. Good luck for next run 🏃‍♀️

Hi SamNotSammy ....sorry to hear your mojo went for a wander...but it sounds like it’s back again after this run...my advice to you is not to over think it...don’t think about your next run until run day, then just get your stuff on and go. Keep it steady, find your comfortable pace and stick with it. Completing a run is so satisfying and an amazing achievement, don’t be too hard on yourself though, you don’t want that mojo finding it’s freedom again!
