Run Frequency

As we all know, we leave a day between C25K runs. These rest days help the muscles to repair and strengthen to help us avoid injury. We run Tuesday and Thursday mornings plus Parkrun on Saturdays. So the question...

What are the thoughts of running in the morning and again in the evening on the same day, but still leaving the rest days in place? Some days, weather permitting, I just feel like getting out for a run. Having run at 6am and feeling ready again at around 3-6 pm, I wondered if that is a good idea?

Cheers everyone

Nothing wrong with 'double' days as they're called... BUT... just bear in mind that it takes 1-2 years of regular running for the body to become fully adapted to it.

Might be great for you, personally I'd like a night's sleep in between runs.

The more you run within a given period the greater your risk of injury.........
