Hi all,

Just did my first run today- yay me!

But, I note how hard ‘just running for 1 minute’ actually is...!

I guess I want to know that it gets easier- from people that have actually done it!😂

It does get easier, or at least more familiar. It does build up gently so you will feel more comfortable with the running. There are challenging runs but the programme builds you up so you will be able to do it!

It gets easier. It gets better. It's gonna feel great!

Don't let those doubts in now, you can absolutely do this... if you want it!

Please do read the guide to the programme too

Good luck!

Yes, it gets easier (well, running 1 minute gets easier, the challenges increase).

3 weeks ago I struggled to manage only one of the 8 x one minute runs in Week 1.

My next run is up to 2x5 minutes and 2x3 minutes and it will be fine. 😄

You're doing great by starting. One run at a time.

You will surprise yourself how much progress you are capable of in a short space of time. The benefits of C25k go way beyond the running. Keep posting here and we will encourage you all the way 😊.

Welcome to the forum. 🙂Firstly, check out the 'How to run Couch to 5k' link on the homepage (below the pinned posts) - it will answer lots of your questions.

As someone who has also done the program (a few years ago now!) I would just say, listen to your body and don't set off too fast! The goal is to try and complete the running intervals and slowly build up your fitness. Speed is not important so take it steady and drop your pace if you need to.

Lots of like-minded folk at different stages of the program here to support you. Also, others like me - who have been through it ...and carried on running.🙂🏃🏽‍♀️ Good luck and keep posting to let us know how you are doing! 👍

If you’ve got time go and find our first post it’s hilarious and that first run nearly killed us! there will be times it feels really hard but as you work through the programme your stamina will increase and please do go slow as it’s not a race that will come later

Good luck and you will soon enjoy the fabulous benefits of running

Well done for starting, the first run is probably the hardest. I wouldn’t say it gets easier, but the plan is manageable if you follow all the guidance in the How to post. Take is slowly - you will hear that a lot! Good luck 👍😁

Welcome, and everybody's right. It will get easier, just take it slowly.

Good luck 👍
