Week five

Week five finished. A little consecutive running unavoidable. I’m still alive and will be starting week 6 on Sunday morning. Gonna treat myself to a new pair of running shoes when I’ve graduated. Thinking of getting a knee support for the other knee also. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Well done.

So you have knee issues and you still decide to run on consecutive days.........all we can do is to advise based on our own and second hand experience.........it does make me sigh in disbelief.

When you run, the impact creates microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days, not while running. Without rest, repair and strengthening are compromised and injury risk increased.

Take care.

I knowwwwwwwwww

I don’t do this thru choice

I know the risks and I DO take it easy

It’s more like a slow jog at the moment

Thank you for your concern tho

Muchos appreciatos 😊

But you are doing it through choice!!

Far better to make slightly slower progress through the plan than increase your risk of not completing the plan.

Congratulations on completing week 5, I found doing run 3 of that week to be my most enjoyable so far .... it massively boosted my confidence in the programme and myself.

I’m only a few week ahead of you, am doing week 8 run 3 tomorrow.

One thing you’ll likely hear from others here is to be a little careful with the first run in week 6 as it seems a little counter intuitive to go back to interval running after you have just completed 20 mins running.

Very well done, and keep up the great work 👍🏃‍♀️💪

Do try NOT to run on consecutive days... you have a knee issue already.. and the final outcome will be...no running... If the Knee needs support..( pardon the pun), there is already a real problem.

The runs wait... if you have to miss more than one rest day, it does not matter... really. There are many many folk on here who will be only too pleased to tell you how foolish they were to do just as you are doing.

Plan a routine where you can do your runs and take rest days. You can sort it.

Well done on completing wk 5, but as has already been said the rest days are absolutely non negotiable. It’s so tempting to run on consecutive days when you are feeling great and loving the runs but the frustration of the IC for weeks is really not fun.

Take care 😊

Well done for your enthusiasm! But as someine with existing knee problems I often take 2 rest days and that has really paid off. I have got through the programme but only by taking really good care of my knees. I don't need a knee support, so if you are already using one and considering getting another, then that does suggest you need to take those rest days.

Sorry to nag! It's just that it is so easy to injure yourself.

😊

Okay people I hear you. No more consecutive running 😊
