Hi, I did my first session on Monday and felt ok, just a little sore in the knees, did my second session on Wednesday and this morning my knees are very sore, just wondered is this a common problem for beginners?

I had the same experience got to week 3 and had to stop
Stopped for 9 days and started back on week 2 runs once they started feeling better been ok since then just completed week 5 run 1

You could check out Japanese Slow Running technique. Google it for a YouTube video. It’s a low impact style of running, especially good for getting started. Also, be sure to drink lots of water even on non-run days. Also be sure to read the pinned post for new runners by IannodaTruffe - it is full of useful hints, tips and vital information. All the above is good advice. In my case however the issues I had in the first two weeks turned out to be due to unsuitable footwear. But you may want to rule out the less expensive possible reasons first 🙂
