Week 6 R3 done!!!

I can’t actually believe I have done it!! Week 1 seemed so hard. My only concern is I’m not managing the distance stated in the time I’m running. So I was meant to run 2 1/4 miles in 22 mins. I only managed 1.8 miles. Clearly I’m not running fast enough. Is my one else experiencing this problem?

Who says you should run any distance? all the way through couch to 5 k the advice is slow down, have you read the guidelines? only about 10% of graduates run 5 k in 30 minutes but we all run 30 minutes which is the plan, speed comes much later

Thank you. I think I got wrapped up in the thought I should be running 5k by the end of the program.

No need for speed at this stage😉 you’re a new runner, it’s not about personal bests or 4 minute miles.

At this stage it’s about stamina. Complete the program, at an easy pace, speed will come later.

As SueAppleRun said the advice is slow down. It’s all about getting it done, not how fast it’s done 👍

The guidelines post is brilliant, lots of info. Good luck 🍀

Thanks. That makes sense. I will relax and enjoy the fact I can actually run!!

Why are you so paranoid about distance.. that's not what c25k is about! 🙄

You're doing brilliantly! If you're running, you're running fast enough. It's about time rather than distance. Very few people graduate running 5k in 30 minutes, I still can't do it.

Good luck
