Wk5 Run3 struggke

I am really struggling with 20 mins. I think I will go back to beginning week 5. Most people seem to get this one under their belt and move on so I feel incredibly deflated this morning. Very disappointed with myself. Anyone else struggle with this one?

Don't be so hard on yourself! LOTS of people struggle with this one - just search the forum for W5R3 - it's the most popular subject!

What's stopping you complete the 20mins? At what point do you stop and how are you feeling physically? Is your legs? Are you breathing heavily and panting?

I stopped around 7/8 mins. Legs were aching. Not had that before. Slowed right down. I tried to run sporadically after that but stopped at least twice more. I’m frustrated with myself as I’m sure a lot of it is negative thinking instead of thinking I can.

Maybe two poor nights sleep hasn’t helped. Hopefully will feel more like it on Wednesday. Thanks for support 🙂

There’s nothing wrong with going back but try slowing down when you do the longer runs and make you drink plenty off water good luck you be fine 👍

Am also struggling with wk5 run3 ... and every post I've read today is from people who have done it with ease which is making me feel even worse. Trying to tell myself that I've done well as got to 15 minutes. Took me an hour to convince myself to go out and try as was convinced I would fail. Trying to slow down but just run out of breath, just don't know how to go any slower. Any ideas welcome. So, yes you are not alone in struggling but trying to tell myself that I've done well to go out and give it a go so well done you for trying.

I don't think any of us did it with ease, it is more mental than physical, the brain will make you think it is physical, I just focused on each 5 minute section, we have already done 8, so 10 is not a stretch, then you are on the countdown to 20 mins , the last 5 I found hard, not going to lie, but I knew I could run the last 5, it is only 5 minutes after all.

I found I needed to control my breathing, that helped, it is in the mind, please don't go into it with negative thoughts, you both can do it trust the plan, if you can get to W5R3, you are physically ready.

Try again, be positive and enjoy the end, it is great to get there.

Yes Ive told myself I’ve done well to get this far. Still, I plan to go back to beginning of Wk5 to give me the boost again. I’ve had a headache today so will start afresh tomorrow in a more positive frame of mind.

Thanks for all the support chaps and chapesses (!)
