Yep, I’ve been listening to W9d3 for about 8 consolidation runs now and decided last night just to run with Runkeeper audio time. Including the x2 5 mins walk, I did 52 mins and covered 3.94 miles!

It was dark and heavy rain - I was soaked but I really enjoyed that run! Can’t actually believe I’m saying that. Definitely feel it in my legs this morning.

Thank you! Definitely feel like I’m a proper graduate now as I stopped listening to the podcast.

How are the new trainers doing?

They’re great! Super comfy and probably aiding the rehab of my Achilles. I’ve not run in anything else since I bought them.

Brilliant - well done on your consolidation runs! Have you popped over to the Bridge to 10k forum yet, to see what others get up to after completing Couch to 5k? Of course there is no pressure to go further( or faster!) but many like to try different things and you will get lots of ideas!! Good luck🙂

I didn’t sign up to juju’s magic 10k plan this time round, I graduate early January and just don’t feel confident enough yet. Juju doing another call for 10k in May so I think I might aim for that. My goal when starting this was to be able to do a 5k comfortably, three times a week. The fact that I’ve done two 6k runs now in the last weeks blows my mind 🤯🤯🤯🤪🤪.

I just read your profile and some of your posts - well impressive! 10 mile runs! You’re proper tough!!

I'm really not...it is all about just getting out there! I also started with the intention of 3 x 5ks a week which is great for fitness...but the running bug took hold! My highlight was the Balf Half Marathon in 2017 and I hope to do Run Gatwick HM in May. You are very wise to build that fitness base up steadily - it's easy to push too hard too soon. For me,,the best thing about this running journey has been how it has helped me mentally - nothing like a muddy trail run for distressing after a busy week..actually, I'm off on one soon!🙂

Re-read your posts there to make sure I didn’t get it wrong - and I haven’t! You are tough! Love reading posts of people challenged by the running and what they’ve achieved. Your profile pic of your medals is awesome!

Thanks but don't think I have posted a pic of my medals!?🤔

Oh, not sure how that happened, a picture of medals came up when I was reading your posts, just assumed they were yours! Hope you enjoy you run today.

Oh - that's the banner on the 'Marathon running and Race Support forum'! 🙂 There are some great medals out there!

Brilliant Leosmit, it does feel bit strange at first running without your trainer but you get used to it.

Congratulations on running for 52 minutes/3.94 miles👏👏👏👏😊

Thank you! My legs feel it today! As I can feel my muscles my legs feel strong and slim 🦵🦵🦵.. then I looked in the mirror - they look the same 🙁🙁. 😆

That’s awesome! Congratulations, how many ‘consolidation runs’ are recommended? Or is it just a matter of keep going? I’ve just swapped from Laura to Michael to change it up for wk6, it’s a weird mental thing it does like I want to impress him and when he says well done I feel really proud of myself!! 🤣🤣

It is recommended to do a few weeks of the 30 mins once you get to the end of the programme. There is a full guide on ‘after C25K’ and also a consolidation forum on here. It’s great support. I have only increased my time for the last two runs just because I felt I could. Am still surprised with myself! Good work on your progress and keep it up.

You've cut the apron strings!!

Well done. It took me a few runs before I was brave enough to do that.

Even though, like you, I turned to RunKeeper audio stats, just so I had some sort of guide rails.

Great going. Really, really well done!

I selected the drill sergeants voice on the Runkeeper app. Made me laugh!

Brilliant! Ditching the app which has served us so well is pretty liberating! But ditching the forum- no way!
