I ditched the treadmill and ventured outside!

First post graduate run this morning and I ditched my trusty treadmill ( done the whole programme on that) and headed for the seafront! I kinda went with the attitude that I'd just see how it went, didn't expect to run the whole 30 mins to be honest (especially as I've had a 6 day break) but I did it! Pinch me! There were loads of people but somehow I didn't feel self conscious at all, just turned the music up and concentrated on getting through it without tripping up 😌 I was thankful for the breeze even though it was pushing against me on the way back. Feeling liberated!!

That first post grad run is a strange one, almost like riding your bike for the first time without stabilisers. πŸ™ŒπŸ½ Well done, running along the beach front sounds amazing.

That's true! I felt a bit daft at first but then just got in the zone. Never thought I'd say that! And yes I'm lucky to live near the sea. I could smell the salt, loved it!

Well done that is amazing. I am only on week 1 but determined to complete (might take longer than 9 weeks as I am an oldie at 57)

I am on a treadmill too, can I ask you what speed did you start on? Think I am about 5K per hour

I'm not very techy, in fact not techy at all. My treadmill is Reebok and I usually set it between 4.7 and 5 for the runs. I have no idea what that relates to though.. is that mph? (I had it set on miles, kept meaning to change to km but never did) I also have no idea if I went faster or slower outside πŸ€” If this running thing becomes a bug I'll have to make an effort to track my stats better. Good luck to you, you'll feel so great by the end of the programme 😊

Well done πŸ˜ƒ and how lovely along the seafront! I had a gait analysis yesterday on a treadmill and thought I was going to fly off the back and it was only going slowly πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Ha ha, I started off a bit like that but got quite handy on a treadmill by the end of it. I could even master turning my head 'slightly' to the side to look at the clock πŸ˜‚
