A bit dejected ☹️

Having done a lot of my runs up to now in the gym ( mainly due to weather!) I thought I’d make the most of today before the storm hits... sadly struggled with the increase to 8 minutes... managed the first run ( just) then had to slow down to a walk for 10 seconds after 6 minutes into the second run .No idea why so hard. Maybe the cold , or the wind, or too soon after lunch? Who knows. Ironically could have run for longer after the end of second run 🙄 Anyway.... think I must put it behind me and repeat this run before I try and tackle 20 minutes. Have made good progress so far , so hope this is just a hiccup.

Hi Jinnyjampot ...don’t worry yourself too much about this, honestly we all have runs like this...it could’ve been any of those things you say...after eating I usually wait at least an hour, sometimes 90 mins depending on élégant it was...also, did you have a good nights sleep and keep hydrated yesterday??? All these things factor in our runs so like you say, just repeat the run and I say this because of the next run you have coming up...I’m sure this is just a blip and you will be fine...also you say you’ve run indoors up to now? Well, maybe you were a bit giddy being outside??!!!!! I would’ve been in this lovely sunshine...good luck with the repeat

Don't worry about it, some runs are good and some not so much. Outdoor running is generally physically harder than the treadmill, but it's so much more interesting!

Happy running.

I'd only ever run on a treadmill at the gym before I started C25K and couldn't believe how different/tougher it is outside, but, I prefer it. Not as much when it's windy, but every run is different and I like that. Take your time you'll get there.

It is just a hiccup! If you've done a lot of treadmill running it will feel different outside! Good luck!

Practice run, well done! I’m sure you’ll crack it next time 👍😁

Out of your comfort zone, with an increased run length and you only walked 10 seconds of the runs? I see some victories there... certainly no need to feel down. You’re also starting to think about the influences around the run itself, which is great... there’s much you can learn here, or by reading a book, but what works best for you is something you have to learn for yourself.

So, yeah, slight hiccup maybe, but the learning and extra fitness you get from this run far outweigh 10 seconds of not running.
