A short mile has proved to me now that it won’t be my lungs that stop me going further and faster but my legs, we ran just a little it was too cold and blowy by the beach so we went round our sheltered track, blue sky and sunshine it was bliss

A beautiful photograph. So pleased that you managed a short run. But "my word" that cold wind hits hard, doesn't it? Take care and have fun in that winter sun.

Amazing you managed a mile after being ill, onwards and upwards for both of you now I hope. Still love a photo if the beach no matter what month it is. Hope you are both now nice and cosy 🤗🤗

It was great and the photo doesn’t do justice to the size of the waves, jogging slowly round the track was great too, i can see lots of walking and running in our future

It's lovely being beside the seaside in the summer with a gentle sea breeze blowing in your face when running along the promenade, but in the winter with a force 8 gale it's unpleasant, well done W&S on that mile run in the cold wind, love the photo of the big waves lashing onto the shore.

The waves were huge but the wind to cold straight in our faces hence the run round our sheltered track afterwards

Great to read about your comeback run. Looks lovely out there, shame about the windchill.

After being cocooned in our warm home and wrapped up nice and warm it was a shock, it was breezy last night in the downs but loads warmer than this morning, mind you a real treat to see the blue sky and sun

I was listening to the storm outside before, beating the rain on the back of the house... or so I thought. Little Miss UNM has left the tap running in the bathroom with the plug in... and now I have a very wet kitchen. Still, she will be home soon and getting some mopping practice.

Luckily no permanent damage... just can’t believe I was sat there listening to it 🤣

It was freezing out there in the wind, glad you found somewhere sheltered!

I always think i will get bored with the track but yes it was not much fun on the beach this morning, good to get out though

Great that you got out and a mile is a good distance, hows it going with the smoking?

SueAppleRun profile image
SueAppleRunGraduate in reply to Rigpig

Not smoking is fine, i can take huge breaths and my o2 levels are going up daily

Great news, it’s an amazing feeling to be free of it. Your running should improve quite a bit when you get back to it 👍

Yes already i can stretch out faster and it’s legs not lungs that will slow me down

Well that's a good thing! Lungs you have little control over, legs you can make strong again.

Glad you're getting out there and on the road again! Keep well.

Brrrr, that sounds very chilly, but lovely to be by the sea, even just for a few breaths. Good to see you out and a about - keep well wrapped in this wind and cold and enjoy your track. 😁🌬❄🌊🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
