I was due to start run1 of week 3 on Sunday evening but the pavements were like an ice rink so I had to abandon that plan. "I'll do it tomorrow" I promised myself but Monday is a stupidly busy day for me and after 4 hours of dog walking and a dog training session followed by yoga class, I could barely summon the energy to climb the stairs to bed, let alone run. Then today my left knee ached and my right Achilles was burning a bit. I teetered on the edge of NOT running again. BUT then I remembered you lot😁 so I had a quick search on the forum for advice and stumbled across the Japanese slow jogging link, watched the youtube video and realised I could try it to reduce the impact on my body. I did the run tonight and was fine. So happy!

Well done for getting out there👍 Slow jogging is a fab concept, I love it😁
Funny how this place makes you more motivated, I used to find myself planning my post run wright up whilst doing my run 🤓

Well done. I think you made all the right decisions ther! Not running with ice everywhere, not running yourself to exhaustion and not giving up by using the forum! Well done!

Well done getting back out there. Enforced breaks and comebacks are all part of what makes a runner... good call not running on ice, and Monday had you getting more than enough workout... the non-runners in us would have taken today as a rest day. Great job.

Brilliant. Well done for getting out there.
Life throws all kinds of stuff at us which results in us not being able to run. It's when you have a few of these in close succession that it can be the start of a slippery slope.
But you did it! That's great will power. Where there is a will there is a way!

Thanks everyone! Yes, I too have got into the habit of popping on the forum to report a completed run and I think it is a good habit to maintain as it definitely makes you feel there' s a big warm, pair of virtual arms wrapping around you and supporting you through the - wait for it, hated word alert - JOURNEY aaarghhhh. Feeling good today and all ready for the next run tomorrow. I cant quite believe I am saying this, but I am actually looking forward to it!
