Out again this morning at 6.20 with frost everywhere!! Wasn’t going to let that stop me though, I bought some ski base layers from Aldi before Xmas which were great, just enough to keep the chill off before I warmed up. The run went well, however, when the trainer gave a tip on how I should be breathing, I found that really hard, maybe I’m still quite unfit and will improve further on, I tried slowing down my run but it wasn’t happening, I still found it really hard to pace the breathing.

Great you've now completed wk2r1. Sometimes the tips for breathing aren't as achievable as they sound . Just keep your running slow and you will find a natural breathing pattern that suits you. Good luck and well done 😊😊

Maybe just breathe how you feel is natural for now? If you're struggling then slow down a bit?

I tried slowing down a bit but maybe I was at the point of no return lol, I was already puffing and blowing 🤪

Well done JBG, you're onto your second week already. I've just re-started C25K and completed W2 R2 about an hour before you this morning, yes, it was cold! I'm glad it's not just me who tried the suggested breathing pattern, struggled, and went back to breathing how I was. I've decided that for now, as long as I can run for the specified times without stopping early because I'm out of breath, I'm going to stay as I am. Maybe when I get to the end of the course I'll be able to breathe more like Laura suggested?

I think I’ll just carry on breathing how I feel comfortable then maybe as I get more experience & fitter with running I’ll have more of a balanced breath.

I think that when you get into the longer runs you have time to settle in to both your stride and your breathing. The shorter runs are new and trying to do everything perfectly at once is difficult. Good luck and try to take it slowly from the start so you don't get out of breath! Keep posting too - I'm nearly at the end of the programme but find this forum so helpful and encouraging!

Yes we must be careful out there, I was lucky it wasn’t so slippery were I was! My next run is tomorrow (Wednesday) so hoping it’s not too bad
