W1 R1 - what am I wearing?!?

I've been meaning to start this for about two years, and this morning I woke up and I finally did it! I left the house wearing an old t shirt, baggy joggers and a pair of trainers I bought six years ago but never wore. Granted, it took me three attempts to leave the house, but I did it - and I ran (kinda). It wasn't fast and it probably wasn't running (more of a very slow tortoise jog) but my word do i feel better for just getting up off my butt and doing it.

Is it weird that I can hardly wait for the next run? Probably should buy some better fitting jogging bottoms!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Slow is just fine............we won't have to tell you to slow down.

Enjoy your journey.

Yep, I started out the same.

I soon bought some proper (cheap) kit though in an Aldi sale 😆. Though that was more down to my joggers being too tight. Well they fit the last time I wore them 😁.

Well done for getting out there and welcome to the gang. Keep posting!

Not weird at all, we spent the first few rest days just talking about the next run, and do take a rest day your muscles need it to heal

Hey, you’re dressed and you’re out there running, that counts as a triumph 👏! I found wearing comfy old stuff to run actually helped me a lot at first by reassuring me that I wasn’t aiming too high. Stopped me getting performance anxiety 😁

That’s fantastic - well done for starting! You should buy yourself some near gear as a reward when you get to a certain week.
