It will get easier I promise! If you finished it though that is a good start :) have a rest day then try run 2, you might be pleasantly surprised!

getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Each run builds you up for the next one.

Enjoy your journey.

Congratulations on starting the program, the first run is often described as the hardest. Follow the program and stay slow and you will be fine. If you feel you are struggling then slow down some more, speed is not important you are building endurance and the first few weeks set you up perfectly to achieve this. I bet you felt great after you recovered a bit though? 😊

I did my first run today, I also thought I was going to die 😂

I almost gave up halfway through, glad I stuck it out!

Well done and good luck with run 2.

But you didn't die - you did it! That's great! Try not to think about the next run and just get out there and trust the plan! I have never run in my adult life and it is working!

Yes. I’ve managed about 5-6 runs now although I’m still repeating wk1. Sometimes it’s easier, sometimes it’s harder. Just got to go with what you can manage on the day. I’ve come to the conclusion managing something is better than managing nothing.

Good luck with your next run

Obviously it’s up to you but I would encourage you to try week 2 if you’ve managed to complete week 1. There will always be good runs and bad runs whether you can run for one minute or one hour, but trust in the plan and you will keep making progress 😊

It’ll definitely get easier for you , have you any park run venues near you. Once I completed couch to 5 k I started doing the park run at Pontypridd, my first run took me about 31 . 49 my last park run I did was 26.07 and I never thought I would have achieved couch to 5k so keep at it you can definitely do it 👍

And I definitely agree with a previous comment you’ll do one run and you think I’ve nailed it then the next one might be worse but keep at it and you’ll do it 👍
