C25k/3 πŸ€ W2R1 - chilly ears! Hat or headband?

β€’26 Replies

I wasn't feeling much like it this morning when I set out and it is chillier here than it has been, so I had my first experience of a chilly head and ears - ouch! The top of my head was fine, but my ears and the side of my head were a bit nippy. Think I'll need to invest in a hat or headband, but don't want to overheat. Any suggestions?

Feel great for having completed it now though πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ.

Hi Delly-Dot! I went for my first run since before Christmas today, Wk3R3, it was alright! Lovely, warm and sunny here in Poole, but I run on a trail way and it was puddly. Keep at it, we’ll do this together.

Well done! I had a puddly run too. I run through woodland and the sun hadn't really got through so it was a little damp and chilly. Pretty though. Keep going!

What about one of those 'buff ' things people on here use . You can put it round your head and ears or neck .

Great running 😊😊

in reply to Buddy34

Thanks Buddy, that sounds like a good solution. I shall start having a look.

I agree with Buddy34, a buff is excellent. Hygge bands are good too, and very colourful! Happy running, enjoy your journey :)

Oh Hygge - I like the sound of that - sounds comforting! Thank you 😊

Great recommendation!

I have just been on the Hygge Bands website and they have a 'buy one get 3 free' offer at the moment - so I have 4 gorgeous headbands on the way for the price of one!

Thank you!

Hugged bands are excellent. My lovely sister in law gave me one. You can wear it a variety of ways.

Well done πŸ‘ I was going to suggest Hygge Bands too, going to buy some as a hat just isn't for me!

Having read this earlier I went and dug out an old snood/headband thing to wear on my run today - just got back and it was great! No more chilly ears and it kept my earphones in place! Might look in to hygge bands... πŸ˜ƒ

Just had a look at the hygge website and loving the animal print ones. Hadn’t heard of them before...

I went out tonight with my beanie with a light on the front - Β£4 Ebay bargain and not that thick so I don’t overheat.

Although I looked like a miner ! πŸ€£πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

in reply to RunRunRun13

Very funny! I have a mental picture of a jogging miner in my head!

The Hygge Bands recommendation was fab, especially the unbelievable 'buy one get 3 free' offer, as I'm a girl who can't resist a bargain. Comes from being married to a Scotsman. Four gorgeous headbands (well 5 actually 'cos they also had a mystery Β£2.99 bonus headband offer I couldn't resist!!πŸ™„ πŸ˜‚) are now on their way! Can't wait.

Don't know how they'll look with a miner's head torch though.....

in reply to CharliesMum11

Oh dear! You lot are going to cost me a fortune!

Just looked - very colourful and very jazzy. Much more interesting than my safe (boring) black and grey leggings. I'm colourful elsewhere, but never been brave enough to colour my legs!

Oh dear, oh dear. I thought taking up running would be a relatively cheap way to get fit and you guys keep doing this......!

Hygge bands are great - I bought them on buy 1 get 3 free as well 😁 haven't used them for running πŸƒ yet but good for piyo. Think they will be good to keep earphones in place πŸƒ ☺
