Thank you! It does feel good to be into week 4. My calf muscles are fine now but I know I shall be giving them a foam rolling session before I go to bed otherwise they might not be too happy for yoga tomorrow π₯΄π§ββοΈ!
Other people's posts are both a great motivator and inspire me when I need it. Keeping in touch with fellow runners from the IC was also great when I was laid up two runs before graduation last year. It is great to see so many familiar folk still posting and running. This forum has paid a large part in ensuring that I have come back to try again, hopefully all the way to graduation this time π€πΌ.
The roller seems to be helping me, although I do have a begrudging relationship with it as I find it quite a torturous device and I can turn the air blue when using it π€¬ ! I can get delayed muscle soreness, usually late evening/overnight, so it's been really useful to use it before going to bed on both run and rest days.
I don't post after every run but I find when I do I feel like I'm checking in and keeping myself accountable to myself more than anything!! Plus I promised a fellow runner I would run today so I'm showing solidarity!
Well done for getting out there and beating that run. I may have to invest in a foam roller...unless I could use a paint roller. πWe have plenty of them. Take care. π
I think you could give Enid the paint roller as sheβs a bit soft. Youβve proved you are more hardcore and could definitely handle the foam roller!!
Well done! I was going to leave W4 R1 until tomorrow but I felt like giving it a go so I did! Definitely a step up and my calves also felt really heavy, but I did it. Just done my first foam roller session - fell off it a few times ππ
I employ avoidance tactics to get out of it, but my inner-self knows that's totally counterproductive π. With that in mind I have enlisted the help of my son, who has strict instructions to not let me eat my treat bar of chocolate π« this evening until I've tortured myself on the evil thing first!
I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who falls off! π
