Hi, I’ve heard a few people refer to the ‘podcast’ is this just the voice on the app or is there something else? thanks!
Podcasts?: Hi, I’ve heard a few people refer to... - Couch to 5K
Podcasts?
A podcast is one these new fangled millenium words that came into being when Apple's iPod became a new way of listening to music, specifically digital forms of music, eg. mp3 files.
A 'podcast' was the name given to a non-music 'broadcast' for an iPod - so a standalone digital audio file that could be downloaded to the device (to be played at anytime, with no need for the internet) or 'streamed', so using an internet connection to play the file from a website.
The CouchTo5k program can be listened to/followed either through the phone app (downloaded from the Apple or Google stores) OR... by downloading each week separately as podcast files to your device. The links to the podcasts can be found here:

I hope that explains your question
Good luck!
John
PS - there are podcasts available on all manner of subject - fiction, non-fiction, etc. Consider them as similar to audiobooks. Radio, TV stations, comedians, scientists etc etc etc - all have podcasts these days.
Hi Babysteps2020, The podcast is from the NHS website and each week is downloaded separately - there is only one commentator the Goddess Laura. The app has a choice of commentators (including Laura) to keep you on track and inspire you. I used the podcast which doesn't record your progress although I believe the app does.
Good luck.
