Week 5 - a welcomed start

There was a delayed start to our attempts at conquering week 5.

Hazy skies over Melbourne and too much red wine over recent days meant we took a couple of extra days to start the first run. We started this morning. The run was tougher than I thought it would be. I run with my husband and we had to remind ourselves a couple of time to slow down and breathe.

We were grateful to see the puddles on the footpath and mud patches. We were also surprised to see black cockatoos feasting on pine nuts in the tall pine trees that flag our path. We have never seen them around this area before. I wonder whether they have flown further south due to the fires...

We know this rain is only temporary but hope that the cool weather we are experiencing dampens the immediate threat for those struggling further north, east and west of us.

Be kind to yourself dear runners. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Great going for getting back on it. You'll soon get into the stride again.

Red wine is no friend to the runner.

Which is a real shame as me and red wine are best mates 🤣

It does make for some tough runs. Not this month though!

Good luck on week 5. I think you'll enjoy it.

I see the news reports about the fires and am constantly horrified! Well done for keeping going with the running, and stay safe 😁
