Can I pause W6R2 for ten minutes in the middle?

I realise that sounds like I'm trying to wriggle out of something, but it's just that I'm looking after some friends' cats and when I offered I blithely said "it'll be great, I can do it when I'm out for my daily run." They live around 20 mins walk from mine. Now obviously the cats need feeding every day, so I'll walk round on non-run days, but today is W6R2 and I've just checked, and it's walk 5 run 10 walk 3 run 10 walk 5 - can I extend the middle 3 minute walk to allow time for cat-wrangling, etc.? Or does that somehow undermine the programme?

Thanks in advance xxx

Take a longer route.

That's easy for you to say :) but assuming I do (nothing better to do on Christmas Eve!) should I just do the complete run first and walk home, or a longer warm-up walk?

Hi I have only recently graduated and at 1st I was doing c25k around 10 am ish. One day there was a delivery and as wifey was out I had to stop my treadmill running & take in the parcel. I stopped for about 5-7 mins but all I done was start over the section I was on.It was W5R1 5 min run 3 min walk.

Mind you it was only the once but made no difference to my training overall.I think if it is just over Xmas it will not make any difference overall. Even if it is longer I think the same applies.

I would not worry and feed the cats and then carry on running from where you left off. You could if you wish once moggies parents come home start week 6 all over. If anything that will make you stronger and Myself as well as many other members have repeated a week for various reasons.

One thing I have learnt from members are there no hard & fast rules in training for c25k and not to worry but do what is better for yourself and not to worry what other think.

I realised that after today there are no more mid-run walks, so I needed to knuckle down, but I cursed you, IannodaTruffe, more than I have ever cursed Michael Johnson! I did it though - I ran there along an extended route and arrived just after the second 10min run, so my warm-down walk was delayed but I've just walked home so I don't think I'm going to tighten up. It was hard today; I hope Tuesday will be easier.

Happy Christmas.

I think you did right. You are ready for your longer runs now, enjoy!

Well, that is the advantage of distance coaching......... you can curse me as much as you like and nobody gets offended.

Well done.

Keep cursing, keep running, keep smiling.

It’s christmas I would wiggle it a bit but don’t go over a 10 min run at one time. If your not quite there after your second walk break just run until you get to the house. So i would walk 2 mins warm up then run for 10mins. Then do the same back then after cat sitting go back to wk6 run2
