So far this year I've run 19.47 Miles (31.33 Kilometers) π³ This time last year ZERO MILES! π€¨
It's amazing what having time off for Christmas does to you!
I've decided to set myself a challenge...50 Miles in the month of January π³π£π² I have no doubt that my legs can run that many miles, but I seriously doubt I have the discipline to get up extra early and do it! So now that I've said it....it has to happen! Can't quite believe that I'm saying that I have no doubt my legs can do the miles! π€£ But I really do believe they can βΊοΈ
Good run for you today AliHC, when there are so many as 400 runners with dogs barking at each other, prams, buggies and push chairs, the time that you start running on your own watch is the time you should count for your 5K parkrun rather than the official Parkrun time, you could take at least a minute or more to start running after the 3,2,1 go countdown at the start of the run, so with your own watch, start timing your run when you start running.
It was good fun though! I'm going to do more of them this year too. I think there are 5 Parkruns in the city. My closest one on New Year's Day had 750 runners! Quite glad I went out on my own run that day π
I love my runs on my own too! They're very special! But I have enjoyed the 2 Parkruns and the 2 races I've done too! There's something quite exciting about the chaos and the madness ππ₯³π³
I've been in a real quandary about what to do next. A few consolidation runs and then what?
So, I think I know now. I think you have just made my mind up.
The catalyst for me finally starting C25K was moving to a new house, which just happens to be right next to the finish line for a charity 10k night run. So, I'm gonna do it.
I know that's 9 months away, but at least I now know that my next step is to start the move to 10k.
Good luck with your ambition. I'm very impressed and will be looking out for your progress!
The consolidation runs for me were a great feeling of freedom actually. It meant that I didn't have to think about how far or for how long I ran. The best runs for me were without music and still are. Although on a really long runs I like to listen to the radio or classical music. I seem to get into a really good rhythm.
All the very best with your running and reaching your 10k goal! You've got plenty of time to do it in too! π xx
Must admit, it did cross my mind today that, as a consolidation run, I could just do a short 15 minute run. But that was after I set off intending to do 5k. So I figured that stopping at 15 minutes just because it was hard would be cheating π
