New Years Eve Final Run

A little back story...

After spending the last 15 or so years sitting in a car teaching people to drive felt like I was starting to seize up so in August bought 2nd hand treadmill. Used it at first just for walking on whilst watching tv episodes on Ipad then found a strange little app called c25k.

After a couple of false starts where everything hurt (ankles, heels, feet and shins) slowed down then slowed down some more to 6k which meant was able to start making a little progress. through the challenges. Got to around week 7 when a pain in the knee stopped me for a week or so but bought a "RYMORA" knee support from Amazon which worked a treat.

Bought some new trainers after xmas from a great little shop in Bristol (Up & Running in Westbury if anyones in the area, very helpful) and did the final 3 runs with the last being on new years eve, even got to the 30mins and even kept going for another 3 mins on the last one.

So plans for this year, who knows. Initially just the 30 mins and then keep going maybe start to bring the speed up in small increments. Never thought I would be someone who enjoyed running and there will be days when I wont. May even venture outside at some point.

So the moral of this little tale. If this overweight 51 years young can do it so can any of you, just put one foot in front of the other and repeat.

Lovely post to start the New Year - well done on your progress👍🙂. Couch25K has started many a running addiction and I reckon running outside is definately the way to go - good luck.🙂

Amazing. Great story. I have been pleased with my progress, we just need to keep at it. Sounds like you have done really well. I have had 3 false starts, and finally done it. Really hoping to keep going. The positive vibes from here are great. There are some inspiring people here. Keep going everyone.

You’re quite right NM - it’s a strange little plan but it works! It seems to turn normal couch potatoes into people who want to get out there and run! The whole thing is mad but brilliant! I hope you manage to get outdoors in 2020 - it’s a whole new world and I think you’ll love it! Let us know how you get on!
