Christmas Day ParkRun

As planned I headed out for my first ever ParkRun which was also tied into fundraising for a local charity.

We went through the first timers briefing and headed off to the start.

There were over 400 people there so it was a little crowded.

I set off at a 38 minute 5k pace and was maintaining it easily. A mile and a half in my ankle started hurting again, so I did end up walking 4 times throwing the 38 minute target out of the window.

I did complete the whole 5k, was a little disappointed with the 45:06 that they recorded, my Garmin was on 44:43. Either way, that's my first ever ParkRun time.

I've kind of on the IC now, going to rest my left ankle a little before I start out again.

Total raised for charity £325

Happy running everyone.

Great effort and amount raised. So sorry about your injury though. When you are recovered you know you'll be able to run a new PR PB 1😀

Well done, LeeU, sorry to hear that your ankle has been playing up, hope it settles down soon. But what a fantastic amount you raised for charity, well done you! PS, even with your walking breaks, your official time was still faster than my first Parkrun time!
