Week 5 run 3 - 20 mins?!

How easy did people find the first 20 minute run? It seems a big ramp up from the 2 x 8 mins that I’ve just done.

I had a similar thought, but in reality it is only 4 mins longer, for me pace is key, for the longer runs I started slower and it worked

Thank you. I’ll definitely start slowly!

That 20 minute workout is actually the shortest since W3.

Read this breakdown healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You are ready for it.

Relax and enjoy it.

Thank you! That was an incredibly helpful breakdown.

The plan has prepared you mate as long as you go slow and steady, especially to begin with. The brisk walk in between previous runs helps maintain that forward motion and momentum. People fear it unnecessarily. When you've done it you'll be delighted but by now you've got somewhere between 20-30 miles in the tank already so you've got this no problem. Slow and steady really does win the race. Pace yourself and you'll write on here how you did it!

I loved it.

I was clearly nervous about it as I spend most of my day mentally preparing for it.

But when I got out there, I really enjoyed not having the stop / start malarkey.

Just go slower than normal to start with, and if you've anything left in the tank at the end, kick it up!

All the runs up until now have prepared you for it. As everyone says go slow and slower again if needed . You can do it 😊

Just done it and thrilled to bits. Slow and steady and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. It’s only four mins more than you’ve already done 😊🏃‍♀️

My friend and I both thought this was a massive jump but having completed 20 mins for the first time I have to say it does get easier :-)

You’re absolutely right! Did my first 25 mins yesterday...legs felt a bit wobbly at the end. 20 mins seems a breeze now!
