All done! Bit of a dull ache at first but no pain today. Focal distance of about 0.75m but much brighter and clearer- will just need some low strength glasses when they’ve finished. Bloody good surgeon who only probed too deep once! I felt a bit like the scene in Marathon man: youtu.be/kzw1_2b-I7A
Second op in jan and then I hope to run without glasses! I can buy some cool wayfarers!

Yeh I could .... especially as that knee brace you recommended has just arrived! I’ll try some long distance walks and swimming. Btw: that knee brace is great, couldn’t squat before but now I can so I can work on the knee strength training. Thanks!
Great I bought two, one for each knee and then my left knee stopped bothering me. The right knee was a dull ache while running and just felt tender for the rest of the day after but with the brace on there is no issue. I was actually 10 minutes into my run yesterday before I realised I had forgotten to put it on and completed the run with no issues but it was a bit tender afterwards. I'll be wearing it from now on but I think they are actually starting to strengthen up. I went to check out a gym yesterday I'm signing up after my holiday. They are going to help me with strength and core training a couple of days a week when I'm not running.
