C25K Week 2 Run 1 finished. I live in a very rural area with many hills. So tempted to drive to a flatter area to go running to build up my strength. Running up a hill during the first run really tires me out! On to the next one

Well done.

If you can't get up a hill, just turn round and run back down..........see if you can get a bit further up next time.

Good idea. I can get up the hill but tired afterwards! The there are hills on all roads leading up to my home, this is why I might start driving to somewhere with a flatter surface to complete the run

Believe it or not you'll grow to love those hills 👌 they're a fantastic stamina builder

Will persevere! But enjoyment seems very far away at the moment!

And when you can, get to a beach with sand dunes and try those. Our son used to for rowing training.

I started couch to 5k 3 years ok roughly. Once you finish it you can incorporate hills i believe they are vital. I did a half hill marathon on monday. Love it! Not an event.. I live in scotland...i belong in the hills keep it up!

Well living in Wales is similar, there’s a hill around every corner. So I guess I don't have much choice but to run up hills! Thanks man

When I first started, I drove to a lake to run around. I wanted something inspirational around me.

Sounds like a solid idea to me. Do what you need to do. :)

I am surrounded by big hills in all directions so I walk up the hill for my warm up walk (it takes around 15 mins), then I do some stretches and let my heart rate settle down for a minute or two then do my run at the top which is reasonably flat. I walk back down the hill for my cool down. This has worked well for me and has definitely helped improve my fitness

I drive to a flatter area! I’ve completed the programme and am now starting to incorporate some hills, this worked for me!

Hills are amazing for running on. When you can, try a coastal run too. The smell, taste, and wind all combine with regular ups and downs to make a fantastic journey - unless you are running in East Anglia, of course!
