💥 Finished W6 after very little sleep due to poorly daughter! But blooming heck did it with the sprint finish! The stamina of the 800m runner I was 30 years ago still there. I wasn’t out of breath but my legs heavy heavy! Any tips on building muscle strength? That’s what’s going to hold me back.

Up your core strength and stamina exercise on some of your rest days..your body has to keep up with your legs.

I ran for my County as a speed runner over 40 years ago..but this is different..take it steady and slow..relax into the longer runs and try to leave a bit in the tank...

Loads of leg exercise out there..e.g.

Well done you..

PS

Hope daughter is feeling better.

Magic 🏅 Heavy legs can be a sign of poor hydration - make sure you’re keeping your fluids up in this weirdly warm weather x

Great job... and check those leggings out!!

I used to run 3k and this is subtly different to middle distance, there’s no need to go anaerobic and build much fast twitch muscle... so in theory the leg muscles will almost take care of themselves. Strengthening of the core and joints does help a lot.

Love my wacky running leggings! I reckon I might as well look as crazy as possible!

Well done 🏃‍♀️💪 you are smashing this 👏👏👏

I have my week6 R3 tomorrow , a bit later than intended as I had a busy week ( horse takes priority over running at the moment!) so after last weeks asthma run, I’m hoping for a nice steady 25mins 😁
