Weighed myself today (which is a bit naughty as I only usually weigh myself once a month) and I've temporarily hit 130kg - a 5.5 kg loss over 8 weeks!

That's really brilliant Enxo. That's nearly a stone , you should be so proud of yourself 😊😊

You must be happy with that? I know we would both prefer 5 kg per week but a steady sustained loss in conjunction with fitness is the way forward, you will have replaced some fat with muscle and you will have a heavier water weight due to hydration and inflammation so that's a pretty good result :-)

I get weighed tomorrow but I'm not expecting a lot, I can feel it in myself that my body is changing and all of my measurements have gone down a bit. I tried some old pants on last night as well and although I'm not quite there yet I could definitely fasten the button which I definitely could not prior to starting C25K!

Baby steps!

That's why you shouldn't just go with what the scales say as your body can change shape even with no weight loss. As I found out 😊

I've set myself a goal of 17 KG's over 12 months, I'm really confident that this will happen. Joining a gym after my Christmas holiday and I'm going to do some strength and core training on my running rest days. My longer term goal is to graduate C25K and then consolidate with 30 mins 3 times per week until this becomes habit and increase this to 60 mins 3 times per week, like you I'm not sure how to do that yet but I'll find out when the time comes, as you say baby steps and before you know it we are flying :-)

Hey! Well done, another achievement, that's great. Although I know I'm bigger than I should be (which is quite a shock considering I was a really skinny, weedy kid 50+years ago) but I've not really weighed myself consistently for over 20 years! I've not changed my eating habits (but continue to be 'careful about what I eat' - that used to mean making sure that all of it went into my mouth) but since starting C25K in September I have already lost 8lb (sorry, old-school scales) but more importantly know that I'm looking thinner/fitter so it's all good for me too.

Great news, well done. Try doing some measurements too, often your shape changes more than you think.

Well done Enxo that’s amazing 😉 I haven’t been on scales since before I started this journey I forgot like an idiot! - quit smoking - last time I quit I put on three stone !!

It’s when you pick up 5.5kg in the gym and realise how heavy that is. How tough would you find it carrying that all day, or out on a run! Just great to put it down. Which is just what you have done. Well done!! X

Exactly, 3 x 2 litre bottle of fizzy drink weighs 6Kg, can you imagine if you had to carry them everywhere you went.

Well done on your weight loss, imagine running carrying 2 sacks of potatoes or 12 tins of baked beans that’s approx 5kg

That's 11 packets of butter. Well done

I know! When you pick up a 5kg dumbbell it really hits you as to the excess weight you’re carrying! It defo inspires me to loose more. Thanks to all!
