I’m a bit concerned about how to start running again? I have been really ill and in hospital with a respiratory infection. I’m ok now feeling much better. My last run was over 2 weeks ago, Week 4 run 2. So should I just go straight into run 3? Or do I need to back track and start again?
I’m so gutted as I was doing really well and enjoying every run, I was even doing weight workouts every other day. I now feel my confidence has been knocked and I’m unsure where to start!!! HELP xx

so sorry to hear you have not been feeling well, sounds nasty. Your know your body Gemstar so listen to it, maybe go back to week 2 see how you manage then go from there, there is no wrong or right way, but only you will know what the right way to go is.....goodluck and welcome back
That sounds like a really serious illness. Be really kind to yourself. Presumably as you have been enjoying every run you plan to continue after graduation therefor whether you take 9, 10, 11 weeks for c25k doesn't matter as it's all running. How about just giving it a try - aim to go out for a short run/walk session not the full 30 mins to see how it goes. Good luck
Have you checked with your doctor about restarting running wisely after being so poorly?
I had a bad respiratory infection a couple of years ago and was advised to avoid running outside when it was damp or very cold for a month or so - I was also advised not to run for more than five minute intervals during that time. Go gently, listen carefully to what your body is telling you! 😄
Good advice already given. Don’t worry about number of weeks it takes to complete program. Main thing is to stay with it at a pace that’s right for your current health. Relax and enjoy your runs at whatever stage your body says is ok. Because that’s absolutely ok! 🙂🏃♀️
I agree with everything that's already been said and would suggest that you do go back to an early week for your re-start for couple of reasons. Firstly I think you should ease yourself back into this, as the old saying goes, don't try to run before you can walk. Plus, going back to what should hopefully be easy will not only be great for rebuilding your confidence if you do find it so, but also give you a way of gauging how good you are feeling and if you need to stay at that level for now. Welcome back to C25K and good luck.
Take it easy and go gentle Gemstar, as long as you go out there and start it does not really matter if you start on week 1 , 2 or 3 what ever you feel comfortable doing. take care and mind the cold air on your lungs. Good luck !! You will be fine the weeks fly by.
