Knee Pain

I’ve been doing very short intervals as I have been having medial knee pain on the right - so running 90secs & walking for either 1 min or 2 mins.

I am doing side leg raises & side stepping with a resistance band - being careful to lead with the heel so that I am targeting the glute medius rather than the hip flexors.

The knee only hurts when running. Should I rest it totally for a week & only do strength exercises & not run? Does anyone have any experience of this?

Thanks in advance.

Knee pain is extremely common in the early stages of C25k.

Are you following the advice in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... to minimise impact?

What are you wearing on your feet?

Rest will nearly always ease the problem and strengthening exercises should also help, but if it persists at an intolerable level, then it is best to see a physio.

Take care.
