Week 8 R1....slow and steady...

I had a bit of an epiphany this morning...I ran my 28 minutes for the first time and consciously slowed myself down a bit as was feeling a bit under the weather. I achieved my slowest pace yet!....But also achieved being less knackered, not struggling in places and felt I could go much further/longer!

I’ve read about the benefits of slowing down but it’s interesting how you only properly get it when you experience it 😬 my pace was 15-20 secs per Km slower...I’m looking forward to mixing up longer slower runs with shorter faster ones when I graduate...as long as I make the next 5 runs 🤞🏻

(Oh and for those who read my last post about someone shouting at me - this morning I got a smile and greetings from a fellow runner 😃)

You are doing SO well...thinking on your feet ... planning ahead... a real runner!!! Keep these longer runs slow especially at the beginning. You can always sprint towards the endif you have extra in the tank. 🐌 running will get you to Graduation 🥳 Well done!!!!

It really is amazing when you find that slower pace. Like you say it's not until you experience it that you realise how great it feels. Hopefully meeting that other runner has made you happy. Well done you 🤗🤗
