I just got back from my run and it was *tough*. This is also the first time I actually felt like a runner.
I had all the excuses not to go out this morning. I slept in. It's stinking hot today and last night was stupidly hot, and my phone said it was 30ยฐ already when I woke up. I had a tiny headache.
But, nope. I got myself out of bed. And I ran.
Sweat became a second skin to me during the run. My throat was so, *so* incredibly dry the whole run. Parts of the run were really hard to get through. During the really hard parts, I thought to myself that 28 minutes of discomfort is nothing. And I plodded on.
I did it. And while I'm exhausted, feel like I could drink 4L of water and it won't be enough and am soaked in sweat, I did it.
I'm a runner. When did that happen?
Happy running ๐

That's fantastic! I know what you mean, not having those intervals makes a real difference to the way you see it. Well done! Although I feel like I am jealous of the heat, I would have some real difficulty in running in 30ยฐ! You must be in Australia then, coz it is bloomin freezing in the UK!!
I liked the intervals until wk5r3, but Wk6 r1+2 were annoying! Australia was a lucky guess! There are so many other countries in the southern hemisphere, all having their summer while we shiver!! Just glad that it will come back around!
Probably not going to bump into you on any kind of run then!! ๐๐
I never liked the intervals ๐ I just wanted to keep running!
A lucky guess, haha, but the right one! And no you won't bump into me while running, but I do feel like we are so close to each other in the program that we almost are running together in a virtual sense ๐
It helps that it's a dry heat with no humidity (it was about 20% this morning when I checked) and I ran before the sun had time to be high in the sky. I live in a place where it's currently 35ยฐ but I just went outside and in the shade, it's quite pleasant.
Running wasn't that much fun, especially after a 25ยฐ night, but I made it through!
I am an Australian in Uk so I know just how you feel. Hope you are not in one of the smoke-affected places. I do love being able to run any time of day here (work permitting) cos in Australia I have to get up superearly to beat the heat!
